About the position
As Expansion Lead, you’ll be an expert-in-residence for seeding new cities - first in Mexico, then the rest of LATAM. What does this entail? First, scouting and selecting prospective sites for each city’s launch. Once selected, you’ll lead the team overseeing the operational preparation of these sites, and assist in training of the Starter City Team (Ops Lead, HR Manager, and Facilities Coordinator).
A job well done means that you’ve set up the city’s operations for success in a timely manner. This will ensure that we’re able to reach our ambitious goals of seeding the 12 next biggest cities in Mexico, and establish the modus operandi for efficient, yet lightning-fast geographical expansion. This position is responsible for one of Calii’s strategic initiatives, and requires superb project and team management skills.
Your responsibilities include
✓ Getting city operations ready by designated launch date
✓ Effectively leading the Expansion team, rallying them to hit expected milestones
✓ Selecting site locations for our microhubs and central hub
✓ Leading site preparations, including construction, A/C and cold storage infrastructure, and supplies management
✓ Training the City Starter Team to take over key processes
✓ Monitoring City Starter Team’s path to independence
✓ Developing key processes around Expansion in order to make for quick, effective city launches
What you’ll do
✓ Hone down specifications for the location, size, and other hub requirements
✓ Manage team members and their KPIs to ensure reaching established goals
✓ Visit potential sites, negotiate, and close rental deals
✓ Find suppliers and supervise advances for A/C and cold storage infrastructure
✓ Train City Starter Team members on key processes and KPIs
✓ Keep track of permit requirements and progress
